A New Home and a New Look

The Monster Planet Website has a new location, and is sporting a new look. Whadaya think? Yeah, it mostly has the same old content, but it has a gallery now. A real gallery.

The new design will make it easier to add news, images, videos, and other cool stuff. We also plan to add production stills, and some behind the scenes information and video. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, make sure to bookmark this page, since the old site will come down soon.

And have I mentioned that it has a real gallery?

New Rough Edit
A new edit has been completed. This time it has been saved to digital tape as a backup. This new edit is more polished than the original that was lost (blessing in disguise, perhaps?). Now, all that remains is color correction, sound design, the remaining F/X shots and music. Okay, that's still a lot, but maybe we'll be ready for the 11 year anniversary.

A Professional Venture
For those who haven't heard, production of Monster Planet was put on hold for a while due to a professional venture. Mitch Klein, who is doing the editing and visual effects, was recruited by Timewarp Films, the current venture of cult film director and Maryland native Don Dohler. For the past several months, Mitch has been working with Don and his partner Joe Ripple on the vampire movie Stakes. The project is now complete and available for rent in video stores like Blockbuster and Hollywood video. Mitch does intend to resume the Monster Planet project intermittently between further ventures with Don and Joe.

Hard Drive Crash!!
An unfortunate setback plagued the Monster Planet Production. Mitch's hard disk drive, containing the rough cut of the film, crashed. While several of the effects shots were stored on digital tape, the primary edit was lost.
